E^ST is Valentines Day’s antagonist on ‘Fresh Out of Love’

E^ST doesn’t leave out the lonely this Valentine’s Day on her latest single Fresh Out of Love. The track is antagonistic to the spirit of Valentine’s Day, based on “feeling really empty after realising you’ve given all your love to someone who doesn’t love you back,” says E^ST.

The dream pop-track laden with lofty synths, and vintage vocals from E^ST gushes of romance, creating a fantasy for under three minutes, whilst disguising the emotional texture E^ST punctuates in her lyricism.

“My music’s always been driven by my emotional state,” tells Melissa Bester, the force behind E^ST. “It’s the way I express how I’m feeling, but just as often it’s how I find out how I’m feeling.” Either way, she says, it ends up being raw; “As raw as I can possibly make it.”

Fresh Out of Love is taken from her upcoming debut album “I’M DOING IT”. Set for release in June 2020, E^ST worked alongside long-time collaborator Jim Eliot to deep dive into the aftermath of heartbreak, and the feelings of isolation and failure.
